Final Report (2 Page)
The final report should cover the following section. It can have any form/structure, but must be no more than 2 pages.
Summary of the approach (1 page). Describe the solution you have developed, in particular detail:
Describe both what you have implemented, and also why you made those design decisions. You may want to refer to a picture given in the diagrams
Reflection on the design (⅓ page). Describe the performance of the gripper. What worked what didn’t, what would you do differently next time.
Sustainability & Scalability (⅓ page). ****
What is the sustainability issues of your product, how could these be improved
What changes would you make if you scaled up to manufacture on mass (e.g. material changes, fabrication changes).
Literature/Patent Search, 1/3 page)
A literature review and patent search should be performed (following advice from the lecture - see notes on Moodle). 3 papers or patents should be found that are close to the gripper. A few sentences for each describing how your design differs from these must be made.
Your report will be assessed on the following rubric:
| Assessment Criteria | Weighting |
|---|---|
| Choice of mechanism, sensors and materials and clear motivation for these decisions. | 30% |
| Critical analysis of the gripper performance | 10% |
| Analysis of the sustainability/scalability | 10% |
| Identification of similar works, and analysis of how the design differs | 10% |
| Quality of the diagrams (CAD, Schematics) | 20% |
| Quality of the writing of the report (readability, structure, form) | 20% |
