This report should be submitted as a single .pdf to Moodle, please use your group number as the file name. It should be a maximum of 8 pages, and contain the following. All group members should contribute.

Functional Diagram (1 page)

For your task, generate a functional diagram (1/2 page) which shows the inputs, systems and outputs and the different functions you choose to sub-divide it into.

To accompany the functional diagram provide a brief description of each of the functions required.

Concept Generation (max. 5 pages, 1 concept per page)

Generate 5 different concepts and on each page provide a sketch of the design. This should include a sketch (hand drawn/drawn on PC/CAD) which can communicate the concept. Key parts and actuation mechanisms should be indicated. A short paragraph detailing the operation should be given. This should provide enough information to describe how the concept works and addresses the functions identified in the functional diagram.

Each person in the group should take ownership of one concept and generate the 1 page summary of the concept. The sketch should be labelled by the name of the person who generated it!

Concept selection (1 Page)

For your four concepts perform design selection. Choose key metrics to analyze the different designs and to enable selection.

Write a brief paragraph to detail which design you have chosen. Have you chosen the best one from the selection table, or another one, and if so, why?

Gannt Chart (1 Page)

A Gantt chart (maximum of 12 ‘tasks’) should be produced which summarizes the different activities, key dependencies and allocation of team for the remainder of the project.
